Tímea Babos has won the Hungarian Ladies Open tennis tournament, held in Budapest over the weekend.

Babos took home the trophy, along with prize money of 72.7 million HUF (250,000 USD), after beating Czech player Lucie Safarova, 6:7 (4-7), 6:4, 6:3.

A crowd of 1,800 spectators watched the epic 2 hour and 20 minute match, at the Budapest Olympic Centre, as the home player volleyed her way to victory.

The 23-year-old Hungarian is currently ranked 32nd on the WTA world tennis rankings and has been tipped for a top ten placing by the end of the year.
