Government heads of the Visegrád Four group, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Andrej Babiš of the Czech Republic, Mateusz Morawieczki of Poland and Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia met in Budapest on Thursday.
According to MTI, the V4 leaders convened at an informal meeting to coordinate their positions at next week’s EU summit.
The Hungarian Prime Minister’s press secretary, Bertalan Havasi said after the meeting that the four leaders “are aware of their responsibilities and will take an active part in the discussions regarding the European Union, including personnel matters”.
“The Visegrád countries support candidates to the European Union leadership who have sufficient experience and qualifications, and respect Central European nations and the V4 cooperation. An express expectation towards all such leaders is that they take into account Central European positions and interests in all their decisions,” Havasi added.
