V4 rotating presidency passes from Poland to Hungary

Hungary is holding the presidency from July 1 for a year.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Jarosław Aleksander Kaczyński, deputy prime minister of Poland and leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party, in Warsaw late on Wednesday,

PM Orbán’s press chief Bertalan Havasi said the prime minister participated in a Visegrad Group prime ministers’ meeting in Katowice where the V4 rotating presidency was passed over ceremonially from Poland to Hungary. Hungary is holding the presidency from July 1 for a year. PM Orbán, together with Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki, later laid a wreath at the monument in Katowice of József Antall Sr and Henryk Sławik who helped Polish refugees and rescued Jews in Hungary during the second world war.
