The festival season began in Hungary yesterday with the 27th Volt Festival in Sopron, western Hungary. The popular event will run until Saturday evening.

Established in 1993, it is the country’s second biggest music festival after the Sziget Festival. This year’s line-up includes bands such as Slash, Ugly Kid Joe, Papa Roach, Amaranthe and a series of performance artists.

Last year’s festival attracted a total of 152,000 people, not least due to the headline appearance of English heavy metal band Iron Maiden.
