According to government insiders, V4 ministers and representatives from Croatia, Austria and Slovenia were in Budapest to attend a meeting with Péter Szijjártó, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
During the meeting, the main topic of discussion was the integration of the western Balkans into the EU, and an expansion of the union.
Ministers agreed that by speeding up integration of western Balkan countries it would be possible to prevent serious security challenges, but for this to happen it would be necessary to change the prevailing politics that is being felt in Brussels and certain EU member states.
An equally important discussion took place regarding the western Balkans migrant route and ensuring that it remains closed.
