Prime Minister Viktor Orbán attended the inaugural match played at a new football stadium in the city of Székesfehérvár.
Hungarian first league team MOL Vidi inaugurated the new stadium after six years of playing away from home. The stadium has a capacity of 14,200, and the first match kicked off against sixth-placed Újpest.
The stadium complies with UEFA's highest, category 4 requirements and was built at a cost of HUF 13.98 billion.
Despite the cost, MOL-Vidi has leased the stadium from the municpality for ten years which will help toward repaying the costs.
The match against Újpest ended with a 1-0 victory for the home team, which saw them advance to third position in the first league.
