Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter to Benjamin Netanyahu to mark Israel's Independence Day.

According to MTI, the prime minister wrote that over the past seven years Hungary and Israel have developed a wide-ranging and successful cooperation.

PM Orbán reminded Netanyahu of his “historic” visit to Budapest in July 2017, which in his opinion was the highlight of their outstanding partnership to date. He hopes to reciprocate the visit in the near future.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed his satisfaction with regard to the fact that the joint projects determined within the framework of bilateral and V4-Israeli cooperation have begun and are moving forward according to schedule.

The prime minister also assured Benjamin Netanyahu that Hungary remains committed to the further reinforcement of political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries.

“Hungary is particularly proud of its Jewish community and of people of Hungarian origin living in Israel, who continue to constitute one of the most important pillars of bilateral cooperation," the prime minister concluded.
