Prime Minister Viktor Orbán builds bilateral relations with Vietnam

Bilateral economic cooperation between Hungary and Vietnam is on an increasing trend. In 2016, 266 million USD worth of bilateral trade occurred between the two countries

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is on an official visit to Vietnam to boost bilateral cooperation in various sectors, discuss tourism, security, the economy and other pressing issues.

Bilateral economic cooperation between Hungary and Vietnam is on an increasing trend. In 2016, 266 million USD worth of bilateral trade occurred between the two countries, an increase of 36.28 percent from 2015. The number has already reached 145 million USD in the first half of 2017, which is an increase of 60 percent year-on-year.

Vietnam exports computers, electronic products, garments, footwear, transport vehicles and spare parts to Hungary while  medicine, chemical, machines, chemicals and animal feed are the main imports

The two countries have deep political ties based on mutual trust and understanding and have continued to build that relationship over the years. There now stands a firm foundation for cooperation in economy-trade-investment, culture, education and security defense.
