We’re in a break in the government meeting, where we’re discussing how to prevent energy prices from rising again. Brussels is planning to ban imports of Russian oil and gas to Hungary. The Russo–Ukrainian war and misguided sanctions have already sent energy prices in Europe sky-high, and now we’re facing a war in the Middle East. Therefore the future of industry in European countries is at risk. In such a situation, it’s highly irresponsible to impose further restrictions and cut ourselves off from the possibility of cheap Russian energy supply. From the point of view of European industry, European companies and European families, there’s no justification for cutting ourselves off from cheap energy supplies. The truth is that the bureaucrats in Brussels have only one motive: they want to continue the war in Ukraine. Earlier this week we pulled the handbrake once in Brussels, but today it seems the Brussels bureaucrats haven’t given up, and they’ve come up with new plans. Today we’re working out appropriate countermeasures.
