PM Orbán's letter to Abel Prize winning mathematicion László Lovász

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated László Lovász, Széchenyi Prize winning mathematician and former President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for winning the Abel Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize in mathematics.

Dear Mr. László Lovász,

It is of great pleasure to us all when a fellow countryman is acknowledged for his outstanding achievement, yet it fills us with exceptional pride, that like in 2005 and 2012 before, once again, a Hungarian scientist was awarded the Abel Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize in mathematics.

I was most pleased to learn, that for your endeavours in the field of theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics as well as your role in promoting the aforementioned fields to be central to modern mathematics, You and Avi Wigderson received the worlds most prestigious award in mathematics this year.

Allow me to extend my sincere congratulations and wish you good health and much success in the following years.

Yours Sincerely,

Viktor Orbán
