Minister Hankó said over HUF 106bn of the program funding would go toward investments that aimed to boost Hungarian SMEs' exports.
The Night of Researchers will offer some 2,600 programs in 250 institutions in 52 localities nationwide on Friday and Saturday.
Balázs Hankó highlighted the Hungarian practice of cooperating with universities, training institutes and companies in the framework of a strategic partnership.
“In times of peril … we must have faith in the important role of culture representing values,” the minister said.
Balázs Hankó took his oath of office in parliament on Tuesday. He replaces János Csák who announced his resignation on Monday.
During its EU presidency, Hungary will promote a proposal aiding Europe’s competitiveness and keeping higher education a national competency.
Hungarian universities are proving more and more successful internationally: four years ago there were 7, two years ago 9, and last year 11 Hungarian universities in the top five percent in the world rankings.
The funding will be targeted at projects in the areas of digitalization, healthcare and the green transition that produce patents and products that generate revenue.
