The foreign minister said that construction of the new plant will create 500 jobs in addition to the 1,000 originally planned.

Production of a new, fully electric BMW model will start in 2025, with some 150,000 vehicles turned out every year.
The more than 1 billion euro plant, with 1,000 workers, will have capacity to turn out 150,000 cars a year when production starts in 2025.
BMW said the decision to build the new plant in Debrecen was based on the city’s good infrastructure and logistics base, as well as the already present network of BMW suppliers.
The plant will turn out both combustion engines and electric motor cars but a decision on exactly which models will be made there has not yet been taken
