Connecting the EU with the Caucasian region is in the interest of Europe, and “linking up with Georgia is the easiest way in that,” PM Orbán said.
Minister Szijjártó said Georgia was in no worse condition than either Ukraine or Moldova, which was why it also deserved candidate status for membership.
The two countries shared the same principles that included nurturing and representing traditional national and Christian values which strengthened their political ties.

Minister Szijjártó insisted that the EU treated Georgia unfairly by not awarding the country candidate status alongside Moldova and Ukraine.
The agreement is for the cultivation of Hungarian seeds in Georgia and joint projects in viticulture, winemaking, vegetable and fruit production and money-making.
Minister Varga said the two countries are planning to hold a joint cabinet session this year, to boost ties based on shared values and interests.
Minister Nagy pointed out seed production as an area of cooperation, saying Hungary was prepared to ship high-quality crop seeds to Georgia.
