Gergely Gulyás, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, urged the public to observe the rules implemented so far in response to the epidemic, underlining the importance of wearing face masks.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said Hungary’s border closures that came into effect on Sept. 1 will be reassessed at the end of the month.
Starting September 1, foreign citizens may not enter the territory of Hungary without a specially justified case.
“All other countries are in the red category; Hungary is green,” Minister Gergely Gulyás said at today’s Kormányinfo session, adding that foreigners will only be allowed to enter Hungary “in the case that it is very necessary.”
The operative board coordinating Hungary’s response to the novel coronavirus epidemic will put forward its proposal on the new rules at next week’s cabinet meeting.
