The foreign minister said UN organizations have been “caught” several times as they tried to get various resolutions approved which incorporated parts of the compact.

Brussels is at it again. They seem as determined as ever to bring back to life a migration policy that should have died long ago.
Hungary views illegal migrants as illegal migrants and not as refugees, and the Hungarian government will vote against the UN migration compact in New York, said the foreign minister
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said the package was contradictory to Hungary’s interests because “it encourages migration rather than seeking to stem such processes”
Hungary has decided not to take part in the compact’s adoption process in order to make it clear that the document is not binding in any way whatsoever, says the foreign minister
Minister Szijjártó insisted that the package would pose a “serious danger” for Europe as it is “aimed at legalizing illegal migration as a fundamental human right” and said that Hungary would vote against the proposal at next year’s UN general assembly session
Minister Szijjártó said that Hungary does not support “population exchange between continents” for concerns that “it will lead to the formation of parallel societies and an increased threat of terrorism”
Austria follows Hungary and the United States' lead in pulling out of a United Nations pact on migration
Péter Szijjártó, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, made the announcement on Tuesday and said it has become clear that the differences between Hungary’s position on migration and the UN’s approach are irreconcilable
“For us, the number one priority is Hungary and the security of Hungarians,” the foreign minister said
The migration pack fails to address the rights of people who simply strive to live in their home countries in peace and stability
If the UN's goals are realized then the make-up of Europe’s population will change radically in the upcoming few years, the foreign minister said
“The Hungarian people have a right to live in security, so that they do not have to be afraid of terrorist attacks and so that they can protect themselves from the security risks of the emergence of parallel societies,” Minister Szijjártó said
