Katalin Novák, Minister for Families, has confirmed that Hungary’s 2.5 million pensioners will each receive a bonus of HUF 80,000 (EUR 222) next month in addition to their higher pensions.
After a meeting of the Council of the Elderly on Monday, the minister said that even retirees with the lowest pensions will receive the same bonus, adding that an average pensioner will receive an additional HUF 100,000 in November. The measure is costing the treasury HUF 200 billion.
