The ambassador revealed his plans during an interview on the M1 television channel. He also said that he would like to focus on the areas of cooperation within the EU as well as defense and security.
Britain and Hungary have had a close relationship for many years. There are currently more than 50,000 brits employed in Hungary, and the ambassador would like this figure to grow during his term, he said.
The ambassador also announced that István Simicskó, Minister of Defense, told him that Hungary would like Britain to remain in the EU, partly because of the greater security cooperation this will allow.
In regards to the migrant crisis, the ambassador stated that Britain understands Hungary’s concerns and has always emphasized its belief in the importance of continued EU reforms.
