Budapest has become a focal point of tourism in Central Europe, turizmusonline.hu reports.
Hungary and especially Budapest has experienced continuous development over the past few years, which may be one of the causes behind the dynamic growth of tourism.
According to the website, Hungary’s tourism increased dynamically last year, while the guest nights were divided between domestic and foreign traffic in a 45-55 percent division.
The internal traffic rose by 7 percent and the foreign grew by 4 percent. Most of the visitors arrived from western-European counties such as Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
However, more visitors arrived from the United Kingdom, probably because of the development of transportation, the Liszt Ferenc Airport and the expansion of destinations and flights of low cost airlines.
It's become clear that Budapest and Hungary have raised their values in the region and became the tourist center of Central Europe.
Meanwhile, the highly respected Express Newspaper in the United Kingdom, has said that Budapest is known as the ‘Paris of the East’ thanks to its beautiful architecture and scenic setting on the banks of the Danube. In fact, it’s the ultimate city break to take!
They go on to describe Budapest as an affordable capital city with a vibrant culture and colorful history – as well as an emerging fine food scene.
