Defense Minister opens Military National Security Service's new cyberspace operational center

Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky said the service “is an especially important national treasure”. Developing it was an important milestone in developing Hungary’s defense force, he added.

Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said the Military National Security Service works for the security of the Hungarian people and protects them amidst the challenges of the 21st century.

At the opening of the service’s new cyberspace operational center on Monday, Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky said the service “is an especially important national treasure”. Developing it was an important milestone in developing Hungary’s defense force, he added. Ever since the 1950s, when the current venue of the service was used as a radio reconnaissance unit, technology has developed greatly, he noted, adding that the use of cyberspace for military operations meant that the service must now focus all its knowledge and capabilities under one roof at the cyberspace operational center.
