Deutsch: Change needed in Brussels over migration shambles

“Change is needed in Brussels,” Tamás Deutsch said, appealing to citizens to respond to the government’s National Consultation questionnaire.

Fidesz MEP Tamás Deutsch said European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen “has again made shocking statements” on helping people from Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Bangladesh and Pakistan to reach Europe legally.

Deutsch noted events of the past week during which “a group of migrants broke down the door of peaceful locals in a small town in France and stabbed them to death” and how Dublin was “in flames after an Algerian migrant stabbed small children among others”. Still, Brussels wanted to “send invitations to migrants” and ease their path to Europe, Deutsch said in a video statement on Wednesday. “Change is needed in Brussels,” he said, appealing to citizens to respond to the government’s National Consultation questionnaire. The Fidesz MEP said that while Hungary was “protecting Europe at its southern border”, with border guards “risking their lives”, Brussels was still determined “to force on us its disastrous migrant-embracing policy”. “We must say ‘no’ to this yet again,” he said.
