FM: Abraham Accords have brought a new dimension to life of the Middle East

"Hungary is absolutely interested in solutions which bring peace and stability to the Middle East," the foreign minister said.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said in New York that when President Trump had announced his plan regarding the Abraham Accords, "there was hardly anyone in the world who would have believed in the success of those agreements. And then at the end of the day, he made it. And the Abraham Accords have brought a new dimension to the life of the Middle East".

The White House's Rapid Response 47 account on X reported on Thursday that Minister Szijjártó had told Fox News that President Trump had fantastic negotiating skills, he was a dealmaker, and when it came to President Trump "I would not call anything hopeless".

Asked about President Trump's announcement that the US would "take over" Gaza from Israel, Minister Szijjártó said: "Hungary is absolutely interested in solutions which bring peace and stability to the Middle East."

"I don't know whether this is implementable and whether countries in the region will accept this plan. However, we all know that President Trump is a dealmaker. We all know that President Trump has fantastic negotiating skills. We understand he has been in touch with his Jordanian and Egyptian colleagues, so let's see," he said.

"This is maybe the most complicated issue nowadays in the world: how to make long-term peace in the Middle East. I understand that all kinds of proposals are very sensitive, all kinds of proposals can generate emotions," he added.

"What I say is that when it comes to President Trump I would not exclude anything," Minister Szijjártó said.
