The foreign minister has stated that mass migration coming from Africa can only be prevented in future by providing sufficient development aid to countries in that continent.
Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, made the remarks after discussing migration and bilateral cooperation with Elly Tumwine, Uganda’s security minister, in Budapest on Monday.
According to MTI, the minister said an economic development program with a budget of HUF 5.16 million (EUR 15,000) has been launched in Uganda and other support schemes are planned.
In another form of cooperation, Hungarian companies will set up a cybersecurity center and install a biometric personal identification system.
