FM Szijjártó says strengthening of patriotic forces offers hope for Europe

Only the strengthening of patriotic parties can offer hope for Europe for a more peaceful and better future, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Monday in Budapest.

FM Szijjártó spoke at a joint press conference with Remigijus Žemaitaitis, leader of Lithuania’s Nemunas Dawn party, first thanking him for repeatedly standing up for Hungary in international political debates when the Hungarian government was subjected to what he described as unjust attacks or slander.

FM Szijjártó said that a new era has now begun in global politics, based on what he called a major global patriotic revolution that started in Budapest and gained decisive momentum in Washington.

“In this new world order, Europe is clearly struggling to find its place, while Brussels has become completely isolated. As a result, the European Union has lost its decisive role both in global politics and in the world economy,” the foreign minister said.

He stressed that only a major European patriotic shift could change this situation, adding that it was good news that such a shift had already begun.

“Patriotic parties are clearly gaining strength across Europe, winning elections and entering government. This phenomenon – the strengthening of patriotic parties – represents hope for Europe when it comes to a more peaceful and better future,” FM Szijjártó said.

The foreign minister condemned what he described as Brussels’ push for war, noting that Europe’s two nuclear powers have decided to send troops to Ukraine.

“Brussels is building a European war economy through sanctions, Brussels wants to bring migrants into Europe, and Brussels wants to spread a form of gender ideology that overrides the age-old natural laws of life,” FM Szijjártó warned.

“In contrast, we patriots want peace instead of war, peace talks instead of sending soldiers to Ukraine, security instead of migrants, and support for families instead of gender ideology,” he said.

FM Szijjártó also said that Brussels is visibly trying to crush patriotic forces, because only in this way can it push Europe into war and flood the continent with migrants.

“That is why they want to install a Brussels-friendly and Ukraine-friendly puppet government on the necks of the Hungarian people here in Hungary as well, in April,” he said.

The foreign minister added that this was bad news for liberals, because patriotic forces would not allow themselves to be crushed.

“We patriots will stand together against the Brussels war mainstream led by Weber and von der Leyen, and we will carry out a patriotic shift in Europe that will bring a safer and better future for the continent,” FM Szijjártó said.

He concluded by stressing that the upcoming Hungarian parliamentary election in April will be a key factor in determining whether this patriotic shift in Europe can succeed.
