Hungary is pushing forward with plans to submit Budapest’s bid to host the 2023 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships.

According to reports, the government has offered a financial guarantee in support of the bid, which needs to be presented to the IAAF by November 1st.

The Hungarian Athletics Association said on Thursday that the IAAF will choose the winning candidate on December 4th.

The president of the IAAF, Sebastian Coe said in July that Budapest was a preferred candidate for the event. The budget forecast shows that hosting the event will cost 31.5 billion HUF (97.2m EUR).
