A spokesperson for the Csongrád-Csanád County Police Headquarters has confirmed that a group of migrants made an attempt to break through the Serbia-Hungary border by force at Ásotthalom on Tuesday evening.
According to MTI, a group of 15 migrants tried to enter Hungary at Ásotthalom at 8.40pm, spraying uniformed officers protecting the border with a gas spray from the Serbian side. Four of them suffered injuries as a result and duly received medical care. Police and soldiers on duty prevented the migrants from making any further progress. The spokesperson said later on Wednesday that the police have launched criminal proceedings on charges of assault against persons on public duty.
