Michu Meszaros, a Hungarian circus performer who played ALF in the internationally popular sitcom, has died at the age of 76, according to his manager.
Meszaros had been in a coma for several days but died on Sunday in a Los Angeles hospital after he was found unresponsive in his home.
Born in Budapest, he stood less than 3 feet tall and had performed in numerous circuses, including the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
He had also appeared in a number of films, including Big Top Pee-wee and Freaked, as well as on TV shows.
His best known role saw him costume up as the extraterrestrial title character of ALF, which aired between 1986 and 1990.
