The Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference has donated 500,000 USD to rebuild damaged homes in northern Iraq.

The organization started collecting donations online in June 2017 to help Christians communities in the Middle East. The main aim of the scheme was to help persecuted Christians return to their homes.

According to MTI, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference has transferred the money to those in need through the Apostolic Nunciature in Baghdad.

Head of the Chaldean Catholic Church Louis Raphael I Sako said the revamp of damaged buildings has already began in Batnaya.
