Hungarian MPs ratify Sweden’s accession to NATO

Hungarian MPs have approved a proposal on ratifying Sweden’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), approving the law on the protocol of accession with 188 votes in favor and 6 against. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the parliament’s vote. “I welcome the Hungarian parliament’s vote to ratify Sweden’s membership in NATO,” he said on social media platform X. “Now that all Allies have approved, Sweden will become the 32nd NATO Ally. Sweden’s membership will make us all stronger and safer.”
