Hungary to expand broadband services to over half a million residents

Magyar Telekom plans to expand its broadband internet service coverage to include an additional 530,000 households

Magyar Telekom plans to expand its broadband internet service coverage in the country to include an additional 530,000 households by the end of this year.

János Szabó, the CFO of Magyar Telekom, said the company will carry out the developments using its own resources, but other smaller investment projects could be funded from ongoing EU grants, reports Hungarian news agency MTI.

The Hungarian phone giant is also planning to improve indoor coverage for its mobile network. The outdoor coverage of its mobile network already reached 97% across Hungary by the end of last year.

The company has made many improvements to the telecom services provided to Hungarians. Positives were seen in improved efficiency and revenue rises in every market segment where they continued to do business.
