Hungary is to send a defense unit to Estonia as part of a V4 (Visegrad countries) agreement to help strengthen the Baltic region, it has been announced.

The military unit will begin their post in early July and will conduct training exercises over a three-month period.

According to BNS, a company-sized unit from the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 25th Infantry Brigade of the Hungarian defense forces, equipped with BTR armored personnel carriers, will arrive in Estonia in July.

The Estonian Defence Forces (EDF) confirmed that Hungarian officers will be stationed at the Taara military campus in Võru, and will conduct interoperability training mainly with EDF's 2nd Infantry Brigade.
