Over 2,000 artists have submitted more than 3,300 photos to battle it out for first place in the national Hungary365 photo contest.

Over 2,000 artists have submitted more than 3,300 photos to battle it out for first place in the national Hungary365 photo contest. The works will compete in three categories for the grand prize: landscape and nature, built and material heritage and social genre.

State Secretary Csaba Dömötör said photographers can submit their work up until October 18th on fotopalyazat.magyarorszag.hu in the three above-mentioned categories.

Images of landscape and nature seem to be the most popular among the entries so far. Besides becoming part of a traveling exhibition that will also extend to abroad, the winners in each category will receive a HUF 1 million (EUR 3,000) prize while second and third places will secure HUF 500,000 and HUF 300,000 respectively. Winners of an online vote will also be awarded HUF 1 million each.

The photos will be judged by an all-star jury headed by renowned photographer Ottó Kaiser and will include photographers Éva Keleti and Emőke Kerekes, photohistorian Klára Szarka and Márk Tassy, director of the Hungarian Hiking Association.
