Hungary's ambassador to the United States meets with President Trump to discuss bilateral relations

Hungary's ambassador to the United States, László Szabó has presented his letter of credence to President Donald Trump during a meeting in the Oval Office at the White House.

Dr. Szabó met with the president for more than 10-minutes and the pair agreed that it is in the best interest of both countries to further enhance Hungarian-American bilateral relations.

MTI states that "Hungary and the United States are solid NATO allies with active participation in global missions, in the fight against international terrorism and ISIS, in military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo, enjoying mutually advantageous economic, trade and investment cooperation."

"The flourishing cultural ties and Hungarian heritage, with which the 1.4 million Hungarian-Americans living in the United States enriched their newly found homeland, also provide a cornerstone for future cooperation between the two countries," Hungary's press agency said.
