The prime minister said Hungary and the US will need to sign an agreement to prevent double taxation, as the incumbent administration "has failed to renew the one that expired."
The prime minister said Hungary has a huge and unprecedented economic opportunity with America under Trump.
Szabolcs Takács pointed out the need for peace and a ceasefire in the interests of Ukraine and its people and called for urgent peace talks.
The foreign minister expressed his hope to the US secretary of state that NATO will never send troops to Ukraine.
Tamás Menczer made the remarks on Facebook in connection with a speech delivered on Thursday by David Pressman, the US ambassador to Hungary.
“We continue to take a firm stand for peace, we will protect families from aggressive gender propaganda and will not let illegal migrants into our country, whether the Democrats like it or not!” Minister Szijjártó said.
Zoltán Kovács noted that Hungarian-US relations “work well”, adding that economic cooperation, Hungary’s commitment and its performance of responsibilities as a NATO member were “flawless”.
The foreign minister noted that the United States is Hungary’s biggest export market outside the European Union.
Minister Szijjártó said the way Hungary should be governed was decided by Hungarians whose decisions the government implemented.
“It’s time European leaders finally represented European interests, and not the interests of others," István Hollik said.
Szabolcs Takács said that under Trump’s administration, Washington had regarded Hungary as a valued partner, a friend that Hungary would never forget.
The Real-PR 93 survey published by Magyar Nemzet found that 47% see a Trump win as beneficial for Hungary.
