Hungary’s foreign minister has said that it is clear Brussels is still trying to distribute illegal immigrants to EU member states.
Péter Szijjártó, minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said that after the latest decision of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee, no one can doubt that there is a plan under which Brussels is making efforts to settle refugees in Europe.
During an interview with Vasárnapi Újság, the minister said the decision opens the road for millions of illegal migrants towards Europe.
He said it paves the way for the introduction of a permanent migrant distribution mechanism with no upper limit, which translates as a mandatory resettlement quota.
The minister said that if the decision is implemented, Europe will totally give up its security. He pointed out that over the past two years Europe had seen 27 majors acts of terrorism that claimed 330 fatalities and caused injuries to 1,300 people.
