Hungary's new strategic Cabinet holds first sesson

The government’s work will be divided into two Cabinets which consist of an economic and a strategic Cabinet

The newly created Strategic Cabinet of the Hungarian government has been put into session for the first time to discuss thirty one agenda items.

The session, led by János Lázár, was attended by ministers in charge of the relevant areas, these included: Zoltán Balog, minister of Human Capacities, Sándor Fazekas, minister of Agriculture, Sándor Pintér, minister of Interior and Miklós Seszták, minister of National Development.

Permanent members of the Strategic Cabinet include László Trócsányi, minister of Justice and Mihály Varga, minister for National Economy, while Antal Rogán, Head of the Cabinet of the prime minister is a permanent guest of the Cabinet.

János Lázár announced at the beginning of July that following Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s decision, the government’s work will be divided into two Cabinets which consist of an economic and a strategic one, both of which serve as decision-making and preparing organs.

Head of the Strategic Cabinet is János Lázár, minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, while the Economic Cabinet is led by Mihály Varga.
