According to statistics published on the police website, officers on Friday apprehended 32 foreign nationals who were staying unlawfully in Hungary and escorted them back to the temporary security border fence. In addition, four migrants were detained further inside the country; immigration proceedings have been launched against them.
Over the past week, a total of 76 border violators were apprehended and escorted back to the border. This represents a slight increase compared to the previous week, when 70 such cases were recorded between November 17 and 23. Police also detained eight migrants inside the country last week, all of whom are now subject to immigration procedures.
According to the police summary, one suspect has also been placed under criminal investigation on charges of human smuggling.
