Minister thanks Hungarian participants for their performance at 2024 Paris Olympic Games

The defense minister said that 39 Hungarians will participate in the Paralympic Games starting in Paris on August 28 and wished them much success.

Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky has thanked the Hungarian participants for their performance at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky said on Facebook that an important period had finished in the lives of 180 Hungarian athletes, including 23 soldiers. “We witnessed the results of their hard work over years, sometimes even decades,” he added. He said he was proud of Hungary’s achievements at the Olympics, where “we were the sixth most successful country in Europe and way ahead of everyone else in central Europe”. In proportion to the country’s population, Hungary ranks among the top ten in terms of gold medals won, he said. The minister also said that 39 Hungarians will participate in the Paralympic Games starting in Paris on August 28 and wished them much success.
