Budapest police have announced that 1,770 refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine, including 548 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Saturday. Most of the refugees sought information and continued their journey or went to stay with relatives. The authorities and charity organizations offered shelter to 89 people, including 55 children. Police officers are on duty at Budapest’s Keleti and Nyugati railway stations to help people fleeing from Ukraine. They are working in cooperation with the disaster management authority, the immigration office, national railway MÁV, Budapest’s public transport company and aid organisations, the police said.
