Navracsics: EC approves Hungarian operational programs

In a video message posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, the Minister of Regional Development announced that his department had accomplished its aim of having Hungary sign all agreements with the European Commission necessary to have access to EU funds by the end of the year.

Tibor Navracsics, the minister of regional development, has welcomed that “Hungary has signed all agreements with the European Commission facilitating access to EU funds”. In a video message published on Facebook, Navracsics said an advance payment of 130 billion forints (EUR 323m) was expected to arrive, after which public tenders would be announced and actual projects could be launched.

Following the announcement, the minister praised the contribution of all who had helped him throughout the "difficult" negotiations over the previous six months, as well as those who had produced the technical documentation, worked with the European Commission to agree on Hungarian ideas, and assisted in making and keeping commitments.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to people who were often critical of their work, saying that it "kept the will to perform alive." On this note, in his announcement, Minister Navracsics remarked: "Those who supported and helped were vital, and those who criticized us drove us to perform better.”
