Navracsics: EU funds to come in second half of year

The government will later this year sign a partnership agreement with the European Union which trigger the release of EU funding for regional development opportunities, said Tibor Navracsics.

The regional development minister told a press conference on Tuesday, following the general meeting of the Association of Cities with County Rights, that HUF 10,000 billion in funding would be secured for operation programs, with another HUF 4,000 billion expected in rural development funding.

“I attended the general meeting of the Association of Cities with County Rights, where I consulted with the mayors about the upcoming EU development opportunities,” Navracsics posted in a statement on his social media channels on Wednesday.

“We will do our best to reach the partnership agreement between the government of Hungary and the European Commission in the second half of the year, ensuring the unbroken development of the cities and the country,” he added.
