A new scheme to provide free WiFi access across the Hungarian countryside will soon launch.
The WIFI4EU scheme will be available to 63 Hungarian villages. In total, 3,400 European locations will be awarded a grant by the Brussel-based initiative, including Alsónémedi and Veresegyház.
The recipients are required to sign contracts with internet providers of their own choosing, and claim the funding once the publicly-available, free-to-use WiFI connections have been installed. Each city will be given 15,000 euros, the equivalent of 5 million forints.
