The number of refugees arriving in Hungary is increasing each day.
According to the national police headquarters, 6,079 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Saturday, while another 8,179 from Ukraine crossed via Romania. Police issued temporary residence permits valid for 30 days to 618 people, the police website said on Sunday. Holders of such permits must contact a local immigration office near their place of residence within 30 days to apply for permanent documents, it added. Budapest police received 390 refugees, 162 children among them, by train.
