Péter Szijjártó: Latest news from Ukraine proves peace is needed as soon as possible

Foreign Minister urges all efforts to reach an agreement to end the war

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Thursday that the latest reports from Ukraine again underline the urgent need for peace in the neighboring country. He made the statement in a post on Facebook, according to a ministry release.

The minister referred to new airstrikes against Ukraine, stressing that they demonstrate once more the necessity of ending the conflict quickly. “Everyone must use all their strength to ensure that a peace agreement bringing this war to an end is reached as soon as possible,” he wrote.

Szijjártó emphasized that only such an agreement could stop further bloodshed and destruction. “This is the only way to prevent additional loss of life and devastation,” he concluded.
