The sitting started at 1 p.m. with a commemoration of Traian Cresta, the late spokesperson for the Romanian nationality in parliament, and József Ékes, former MP for the MDF, Fidesz, and as an independent.
Following the tributes, MPs will deliver pre-agenda speeches, approve the week’s agenda, and hold a 90-minute interpellation session, followed by the customary Questions and Answers Hour.
The National Assembly will then conduct debates on 14 legislative proposals, including the committee reports and summary amendments.
Among the items on the agenda are:
-
a proposal to declare Szeged’s Cathedral and Dóm tér national memorial site,
-
amendments to the Hungarian Architecture Act,
-
and international agreements related to crypto assets and income from digital platforms.
Lawmakers will also discuss a bill transferring ownership of the House of Fates museum to MTK, as part of the broader proposal on the free transfer of certain state-owned assets.
The agenda further includes a defense and law enforcement committee resolution on combating the spread of political violence, as well as a bill extending the state of emergency declared due to the Russia–Ukraine war.
