PM Orbán announces nationwide anti-war tour

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Wednesday that the government is launching a nationwide anti-war tour, a new initiative aimed at strengthening Hungary’s peace-focused stance amid growing international tensions.

In a Facebook post, Prime Minister Orbán declared:

“Those who want peace, join us. Győr-Moson-Sopron County — get ready! We meet on November 15.”

The announcement follows what the Prime Minister described as the “fantastic success” of the recent Peace March, where tens of thousands demonstrated in support of peace and against the spread of war in Europe.

“Thousands of Hungarians stood up against war and for peace. I thank everyone who was there,” the Prime Minister said in a video message, adding that “the danger of war expanding is greater today than ever before — the Europeans want to go to war.”

PM Orbán emphasized that Hungary’s position remains clear and unwavering:

“We are Europeans, but we do not want to go to war. The Hungarian people will not go to war. We stand against war, and that is why the digital civic circles have launched a series of anti-war gatherings — our nationwide peace tour.”

According to the Prime Minister, the first anti-war rally will take place inGyőr, Győr-Moson-Sopron County, marking the beginning of a series of events aimed at mobilizing citizens across the country in support of peace.

“Everyone is welcome. Let’s speak out and show the world that Hungary does not want war — the Hungarian people stand firmly on the side of peace,” Orbán said.

The video message also featured Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, who confirmed his participation in the upcoming Győr event, expressing full support for the government’s peace initiative.
