PM Orbán meets Katalin Karikó

Viktor Orbán received the Hungarian-born researcher at the Carmelite Monastery on Thursday.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has met with biochemist Katalin Karikó, the inventor of the technology that enabled the development of synthetic mRNA-based vaccines, the prime minister’s press chief told MTI.

Orbán expressed his recognition of and appreciation for Katalin Karikó’s critical research work.

During the informal meeting, the two discussed Karikó’s career, the development of mRNA-based vaccines, the international performance of Hungarian science and the importance of getting vaccinated.
