PM Orbán meets with Vodafone CEO

The digitalization of SMEs, industrial developments, 5G investments, smart cities, and sustainability projects for improving quality of life were subjects on the meeting’s agenda.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Nick Read, the chief executive of telecommunications giant Vodafone, on Tuesday to discuss Hungary’s digital development and competitiveness. 

According to MTI, PM Orbán and Read discussed Vodafone’s plans, and agreed that Hungary’s economic and social development may benefit as a result. The digitalization of SMEs, industrial developments, 5G investments, smart cities, and sustainability projects for improving quality of life were subjects on the meeting’s agenda. Vodafone, a key investor in Hungary, has aligned its business interests with Hungary’s, contributing to the country’s development over the past 22 years, the statement said. The company has created some 9,000 jobs in Hungary, and its Hungarian unit serves around 3.8 million clients.
