PM Orbán: Results of negotiations between Hungary and US will be felt within six months

The prime minister said US President Donald Trump was re-negotiating tariffs with all countries where the US had a deficit, aiming to improve the current situation.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the results of negotiations between Hungary and the US will be felt within six months.

In a video published on Facebook on Saturday, details of the prime minister's interview with Andras Hont, a host of the program dubbed Ot (Five) and published on its YouTube channel on Thursday.

Commenting on the tariff war, PM Orbán said, "This is a thing of which we know the beginning, and I think we know the outcome. What happens in between doesn't matter."

PM Orbán said US President Donald Trump was re-negotiating tariffs with all countries where the US had a deficit, aiming to improve the current situation.

"When it comes to us, we are in talks with the Americans on issues that are beneficial for us," PM Orbán said.

The government is in talks on "economic agreements and issues" designed to offset the disadvantages brought by the tariffs, he said.
