Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter to Mateusz Morawiecki, his Polish counterpart, to mark the anniversary of Constitution Day, a Polish national holiday.
Poland celebrates the declaration of its constitution of May 3, 1791. In his letter, PM Orbán underlined the importance of solidarity and close cooperation between Hungary and Poland at a time when “a pandemic is posing a serious challenge to all of us”.
According to MTI, PM Orbán praised the Visegrad Group for cooperating well in such a difficult period. “I am convinced that by working together, we can contribute to preserving Europe’s Christian heritage, to strengthening the continent’s security and competitiveness, and to restarting our economies,” he said.
PM Orbán said he trusted that the two countries will successfully represent together their common interests and that “we, Hungarians and Poles can count on each other in hypocritical European debates in the future”. Expressing hope of a personal meeting with the Polish prime minister, PM Orbán wished Morawiecki good health and much success in his work.
