Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is set to sign an agreement on joining a network delivering electricity from Azerbaijan to Hungary via Georgia and Romania. The signing will take place on December 17 in Bucharest. In August, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said Hungary would join the project so that it can receive European Union funding, which is conditional on at least two member states participating. The network would deliver green electricity through Georgia, under the Black Sea to Romania and Hungary, which could use some of the energy and also use the grid to transfer its own.
